A major breakthrough in Ghana’s fight against persistent power outages, commonly referred to as “dumsor,” is on the horizon as US-based engineers from Pileus Ghana Investment (PGI) unveil plans for a 500-megawatt solar energy and storage project.
[pdf] Georgia Power has secured approval to proceed with five new utility-scale solar power purchase agreements (PPAs), contributing a combined 1,068MW to the US state’s renewable energy capacity. These approvals were issued by the Georgia Public Service Commission (PSC).
[pdf] The government aims to add 1,500 MW of new capacity from solar and wind energy, with an estimated construction cost of around $1.2 billion. This initiative is part of Armenia’s broader efforts to enhance its energy independence and reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels.
