Sri Lanka is turning to energy storage systems, including battery and hydro-based solutions, to address the growing imbalance between solar energy supply and demand, a move the government said is critical to sustaining the island’s renewable energy ambitions.
[pdf] One of the main advantages of liquid-cooled energy storage containers is their ability to enhance performance and reliability. By maintaining an optimal operating temperature, these systems can deliver consistent power output and extend the lifespan of the components.
[pdf] The project establishes Sri Lanka’s largest non-government-funded battery energy storage system (BESS), powered by solar photovoltaic (PV) technology. The Battery Commissioning Event took place on 24th of July 2024 at the Watch Tower Sri Lanka headquarters.
