CEA has estimated the on-river pumped storage hydro potential in India to be about 103 GW. Out of 4.75 GW of pumped storage plants installed in the country, 3.3 GW are working in pumping mode, and about 44.5 GW projects are at various stages of development.
[pdf] São Tomé and Príncipe will have a new photovoltaic power station to produce more than 10MW of energy, in a 60.7 million dollar project co-financed by the World Bank, the African Development Bank and Japan. The project will last five years and will start in March.
[pdf] The project, owned and operated by AES Distributed Energy, consists of a 28 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) and a 100 MWh five-hour duration energy storage system. AES designed the unique DC-coupled solution, dubbed “the PV Peaker Plant,” to fully integrate PV and storage as a power plant.
